Pant's funny sledge regarding Pujara

Pant’s funny sledge regarding Pujara: The Indian wicket-keeper was seen passing a cheeky remark to Australian batsmen on the second day.

During the second day of the first Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Adelaide, India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant accumulated a lot of attention because of his verbals behind the wickets.

While Pant didn’t get involve in an argument with any opposition cricketer, it was his teasing-cum-funny words which brought him into the limelight. It was evident that Pant’s knack of being chirpy was coming from India captain India Virat Kohli’s ‘lines won’t be crossed‘ school of banter.

Pant’s comments saw him accumulating a plethora of eyeballs and opinions towards him across various social media platforms yesterday. While some found his cheeky remarks as funny, the other were categorising him as a potential candidate for one of the most irritating wicket-keepers ever.

It all happened after when Kohli introduced spin in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin in the 12th over of the Australian innings. It was during this spell that Pant started to make a mark with his words. Apart from being funny, the comment ‘Everyone is not Pujara here guys, come on guys’ also spoke indirectly about Australia’s batting line-up.

Having scored 25 (38) with the help of two fours and a six in India’s first innings, Pant let his team down with the bat in hand. However, he stood tall on the expectations behind the wickets.

Pant grabbed as many as six catches in the first innings, equaling former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record of most catches by an Indian wicket-keeper in one innings of a Test match.
