Watch: Raul Jiminez nutmegs Otamendi to help create Wolves’ first goal vs Man City in their premier league encounter at the City of Manchester Stadium.
Manchester City’s woes at the back continues as they have just been handed their second defeat of the season; and their first loss at home. Since the Norwich game, barring the match vs Watford, City have looked shaky and uncertain in the back.
Despite enjoying a whopping 73 percent possession and 18 shots in the match, Pep Guardiola’s side failed to translate that into success on the pitch. Of their 18 shots, only 2 were on target, the same number as Wolverhampton.
Of Wolverhampton’s 7 shots, only 2 were on target. However, unlike City, the Wolves converted both their chances to register a surprise victory at Manchester. With this result, they have pushed Guardiola’s side further below a rampaging Liverpool side who have won all their matches so far.

Adama Traore scored both of Wolverhampton’s goals. However, the first goal would not have been possible without the efforts of his strike partner who produced a brilliant assist. Raul Jiminez carried the ball from a little behind the middle of the park and almost carried it to the opposition box.
During his brilliant run, Jiminez showcased a cheeky nutmeg on Otamendi before kicking the ball past Fernandinho. He found the open Traore who made no mistake in putting the ball past Ederson in the 80th minute of the match.

With this win, Wolverhampton have well above the relegation zone. They now sit on 11th spot with 10 points to their name. Manchester City are still at second place. However, the difference between Liverpool and them has now widened to 8 points.
With 15 points, Arsenal are now only a point behind City while Chelsea, Leicester, and Crystal Palace are creeping very close with 14 points each.
