Harsha Bhogle questions Ravindra Jadeja in Hindi: The Indian all-rounder replied in English to a question asked in Hindi by the commentator.

During the third ODI of the recently concluded West Indies’ tour of India in Cuttack, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and pacer Shardul Thakur stitched a brisk 30-run partnership to seal a 316-run chase for their team.

India needed 30 runs in 23 balls when captain Virat Kohli (85) played on a delivery from West Indies all-rounder Keemo Paul. Thakur, who came in to bat at No. 8 in Kohli’s place, scored an exquisite boundary off the first ball he faced to instill confidence in the Indian fans and confidence. The 28-year old player scored 17* (6) with the help of two fours and a six to win the match for India.

Had it not been for Jadeja’s 39* (31), the hosts would have lost their second consecutive ODI series at home. After India suffered a middle-order collapse, it was a 58-run partnership between Kohli and Jadeja which saved India.

Speaking during a post-match interview, Jadeja replied in English to a question asked by commentator Harsha Bhogle in Hindi. On being asked about his mindset post Kohli’s dismissal, Jadeja laid emphasis on the “too good” batting wicket.

“Wicket was too good to bat on. Ball was coming nice on to the bat. I was telling him [Shardul Thakur] to time the ball,” Jadeja was quoted as saying.
