Watch the video of cameras showing empty VAR room when Real Valladolid took on Real Madrid at their own backyard.

Real Madrid lost their last three games against Barcelona and Ajax in all competitions, but they bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Real Valladolid in the La Liga. The Los Blancos were rattled in the early stages of the game and the hosts look to have taken advantage by the shambolic defensive shape, but Santiago Solari’s side was saved by the Video Assistant Referee(VAR) on a couple of occasions.

However, the hosts looked in full throttle and lead the game for the first time through their attacking midfielder Anuar Mohamed Tuhami in the 29th minute. The lead lasted for just five minutes, thanks to a howler from Valladolid’s shot-stopper Jordi Masip when he lost the duel to Nacho Hernandez.

The ball fell kindly for Raphael Varane who had to tap the ball in from close range and equalize the score. The Los Blancos kept on piling pressure on the defence of their opponents, but could not crack it until the second half penalty from Karim Benzema.

The French International scored six minutes after the kick off of the second half and added one through their talisman again with a thumping header from a set piece. Casemiro got sent off for the first time in his career when he received his second yellow of the game in the 80th minute.

Despite being one down, Luka Modric ran into the box to complete a resounding 4-1 victory over Real Valladolid. It is a promising display from Santiago Solari’s men after going 1-0 down in the game.

There was a hilarious moment when nobody was present in the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room. But, it was confirmed that the camera focused on the room which was not used during that particular game.

There is another twist in the tale. When the second goal was ruled out, a replay was not shown on the Television which cast doubt on the newly added technology.

The fans did have their say on this hilarious moment.

Club’s president Florentino Perez has decided to reappoint Zinedine Zidane following the ongoing conundrum at the club. Santiago Solari, who signed a new three year deal with the club is set to be relieved from his duties, according to the reports from Spain.

It is understood that the former Real Madrid manager who wanted a revamp from the current crop of players is said to be unveiled as soon as Monday. Perez is also said to fulfil the requirements of Zidane to recall him to the club.

It will be interesting to see how they would act in the summer given the number of players who have passed the prime. It is understood that the likes of Mauro Icardi, Christian Eriksen, Nicolas Tagliafico, and Eden Hazard are on Real Madrid’s radar. Marcelo, Isco, and Gareth Bale are tipped to leave the Los Blancos in the summer transfer window if Zidane agrees with the board.

They have already been kicked out of the Champions League and Copa Del Rey. With twelve games to play in the La Liga, Zinedine will be determined to finish as high as possible. The league title might look very unlikely, but the chance of finishing above their arch-rivals Atletico Madrid is always alluring.
