Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Erling Haaland is the subject of United’s interest
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer let the cat out of the bag after United’s 3-0 win over Colchester United in the Carabao cup quarterfinals. He confessed his admiration for his compatriot and fellow player before revealing that Haaland was on the radar of the club.
“He is a player I like,” Solskjaer told Viasport . “We are looking for good players all the time.”
“Erling has had a good development, so he has to develop further wherever he decides. I don’t need to talk so much about him, but we as a team always look for players who can complement the others we have, and then we see what we end up with.”
United have a packed schedule which sees them play Watford away on Sunday before hosting Newcastle on boxing day. They then have an away fixture against Burnley a couple of days later and then before Arsenal on New years day.
There is no respite for Manchester United next year either as they start 2020 Wolverhampton in their first FA Cup match before facing Manchester City in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
A tough away fixture against Liverpool also awaits them in January. With all this in mind, Erling Haaland will be a very welcomed addition to the side for Solskjaer.
