It was a fine morning in Dharamshala, the sun beating down, the serenity of the ground providing the onlookers with some much needed solace, pitch seeming to be a belter and  India returning to white ball cricket.

But for Rohit Sharma, today meant more, as he was all set to captain his national side in an international game at home, something that every cricketer dreams about while taking up the sport.

Losing the toss was termed as a blessing in disguise, as Rohit Sharma and everyone around felt that the pitch would play into the hands of the Indian stroke makers.

However, the Sri Lankan bowlers were spitting venom, and Rohit Sharma couldn’t cope with such high quality bowling, edging one to Dickwella, with the keeper gleefully accepting it.

The umpire did not rule him out initially, but Dickwella was extremely sure, and hence Sri Lanka went upstairs, wherein the snicko very promptly signalled that Sharma had edged it.

The whole of India gasped as the result of the DRS review was displayed, and Rohit Sharma’s wife too couldn’t hide her disappointment, as Rohit walked back to the pavillion in his first ODI game as captain.

India is currently tottering at 28/6, with Dhoni and Bhivi battling it out in the middle. None of the batsmen could muster how to play against the hostile bowling by the Lankans.
