During the 23rd match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between West Indies and Bangladesh at Taunton, West Indies middle-order batsman Shimron Hetmyer scored his third ODI half-century. A brisk 83-run partnership between him and Shai Hope before the third powerplay played a vital role in West Indies scoring 321/8 in 50 overs.
Hetmyer, who came in to bat at No. 5 in the 33rd over, took the attack on the opposition bowlers at will. The southpaw punishing both fast bowlers and spinners left the Bangladeshi bowlers clueless in the middle.
On the third ball which he faced, Hetmyer hit Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for a boundary on the leg-side to make his intentions clear. On the first delivery of the following over, Hetmyer smashed a Mohammad Saifuddin delivery for a boundary through mid-wicket.
Taking the attack on the right-hand fast bowler, Hetmyer hit Saifuddin for a couple of sixes in the 36th over. While the first one was over long leg, the second one was hit over deep mid-wicket.

Having said that, what gained the limelight was Hetmyer thwacking Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain for a 104m six in the 38th over. In what was a short ball, Hetmyer shifted to his back foot to hit the ball out of the ground.
