Manchester United continued their winning ways in their pre-season tour as they beat Inter Milan 1-0. The hero of the match was Bradford born striker Mason Greenwood, who scored the winning goal. The 17-year old’s performance earned him huge praise from Manager Ola Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer has already shown enough faith in the youngster as he fast-tracked him into the senior squad. The youngster paid rich dividends scoring a goal in the 76th minute continuing what has been a good run for him. He could have ended with a brace but was robbed by the woodwork.
Giggs: The Legendary Welsh Winger
Ryan Giggs, a United Legend, also famously made his way into the team aged 17. Giggs had a remarkable career at the Old Trafford and was seen as one of the best players in the world during his time as an active player. The Welsh winger played his entire career for Manchester United, notching up 114 goals in 672 appearances. He also holds the record for the most assists in Premier League History with 271.
United will hope that Greenwood can replicate those numbers and become as potent as Giggs. However, they are also aware that he is still very young. As good as he’s been, there will be bad days and there’s a lot of learning ahead for the youngster who is already being touted as one for the future.

Greenwood made his Manchester United debut in the famous UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain. He then made his Premier League debut against Arsenal four days later. His opportunities came about after a host of players became unavailable either due to suspensions or injuries. The teenager on his part though, has grabbed his chances with both hands.
