WATCH: Stokes and Dhawan collide with each other, Dhawan with a brilliant reaction
Stokes and Dhawan collide with each other, Dhawan with a brilliant reaction as the duo present a brilliant exhibition of sportsman spirit
India were put into bat by Joe Root today, after England won the toss at Trent Bridge. Dhawan, Pant and Bumrah were the three additions to the Indian squad, coming in for Vijay, DK and Kuldeep respectively.
Batting first, a lot rested on the shoulders of Dhawan, as apart from Kohli, he is probably the only other batsman who can take the game away from the opposition.
Dhawan rose to the occasion today, having a determined outlook about him, his game.
He was sure of where his off stump and was doing exceptionally well in making the bowlers bowl to him by shuffling across a little.
While Dhawan was doing all of that, he also managed to earn some brownie points with his behaviour on the field.
KL Rahul had dabbed the ball to the on side and the duo took off for a quick single, with Stokes(the bowler) getting on his bike and storming towards the ball.
In the process, Stokes and Dhawan had a bit of a coming together.
However, there was nothing ugly about the entire incident, as both Stokes and Dhawan shared a laugh, with Dhawan even putting his arm around the big man.

Match Situation
India have gotten off to a solid start, one that would give the batting unit a lot of confidence. Both Dhawan and Rahul have looked assured at the wicket and will be hoping that they can put up a decent enough opening stand before the glamour boys can come in and take toll of the conditions.
The conditions aren’t really terrible for batting at the moment, with the ball doing the odd bit but not ripping snorters as such.
How much do you think can India get in the first innings?
