WATCH: MS Dhoni celebrates after India’s thumping victory

The Indian T20 setup would be extremely pleased with their performance in the 1st T20, having brushed aside Sri Lanka in emphatic fashion to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The 93 run win also meant that India recorded their biggest ever T20I win.

While Rahul, Dhoni and Pandey did the job with the bat, getting those runs up top and then finishing off in style, Yuzvendra Chahal spun a web around the Sri Lankan batsman in the second innings, despite the dew making a huge impact.

MS Dhoni excelled in the number 4 role during the 1st innings, showing a lot of intensity in his play and was at his best behind the wickets in the second innings, inflicting some important dismissals, especially that catch off Tharanga on the leg side to swing the game in India’s favour.

Hardik Pandya finished off the tail in the 16th over, picking up two wickets, and completing an absolutely fabulous performance from India in the 1st T20.

MS Dhoni was ecstatic after the win, dancing around, and whipping the bails off with pure joy.
