Virat Kohli batting in nets

Virat Kohli batting in nets: The Indian captain was seen going through an intense net session ahead of the first Test at Adelaide.

With the first Test of the much-awaited Test series between Australia and India slated to start in a couple of days time, both the teams are seen putting their absolute best in their respective practice sessions.

Barring off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and middle order batsman Rohit Sharma, the visitors had opted for ‘rest’ yesterday in a bid to start afresh two days before the match. On the other hand, the Australians were seen honing their skills on both the days.

Given the sole emphasis which is being put to find ways to counter India captain Virat Kohli, one finds himself in an unseen situation as an outsider for team usually don’t plan this extensively regarding a particular player. From former Australian cricketers like Ricky Ponting and Jason Gillespie to some current ones, several suggestions have been put on the table with respect to dismissing Kohli.

Talking of the 30-year old Kohli, the right-hand batsman was unequivocally the centre of attraction during the practice session. Given his inhuman form in the last year or so, there is no hiding to the fact that he holds the key for India in the Test series.

Citing the same, the social media witnessed various batting videos of Kohli’s batting from the nets. While Kohli is seen as stepping out to and hitting a lofted shot to chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav in one video, another one shows him ducking to a fierce Mohammad Shami bouncer.
