Shikhar Dhawan birthday wishes: The senior Indian opening batsman is celebrating his 35th birthday in Australia today.

India and Delhi Capitals opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has turned 35 today. The left-handed batsman has been receiving heartening wishes across social media platforms since midnight.

Dhawan, who is currently playing a three-match T20I series in Australia, would be looking to make a significant impact for the same after a career-best IPL season will all but confirm his opening slot for the ICC T20 World Cup next year.

Dhawan, whose last Test appearance dates back to September 2018 in England, continues to be a regular name in the Indian white-ball XI. Since the start of 2013, Dhawan is the highest run-scorer among all batsmen in ICC’s ODI tournaments scoring 1,892 runs in 32 ODIs at an average and strike rate of 61.03 and 95.55 respectively which also includes eight centuries (joint-highest with opening partner Rohit Sharma) and seven half-centuries.

Among active players, Dhawan and Sharma have the most runs by an opening pair in ODIs scoring 4,847 runs in 109 matches which comprises of 16 century and 14 half-century partnerships. It is due to the same reason why the duo is among the best in the world in this format.
