WATCH: Wanidu Hasaranga amazes one and all by creating unusual room against Dwayne Bravo

Wanidu Hasaranga amazes one and all: The Sri Lankan all-rounder put on display an unorthodox shot against his West Indian counterpart.

During the first T20I of the ongoing West Indies’ tour of Sri Lanka in Pallekele, West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by 25 runs to gain an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Chasing a 197-run target, Sri Lanka were bundled out for 171 in 19.1 overs on the back of West Indies fast bowler Oshane Thomas registering career-best bowling figures of 3-0-28-5.

After being restricted to 56/5 in the powerplay, the hosts were provided a rescue act by wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera and all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga as the duo stitched a 87-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

Having scored 66 (38) with the help of six fours and three sixes, Perera’s 12th T20I half-century saw him top-scoring for his team.

Hasaranga, who scored 44 (34) with the help of four fours, amazed one and all after he went off the pitch in a bid to create room to hit a delivery from West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo over the off-side. While the effort fetched only a run to Hasaranga, him hitting the ball from outside the pitch is worth-watching.

After West Indies captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and chose to bat, the visitors posted a formidable 196/4 in 20 overs. Opening the batting with Brandon King (33), Lendl Simmons scored 67* (51) to become the top-scorer for his team in a a quickfire 74-run opening stand.
