Watch: Zinedine Zidane scores a phenomenal goal at the age of 47 in a charity game

Watch: Zinedine Zidane scores a phenomenal goal at the age of 47 in a charity game. He scored the stunner against a team called Crazy Squad.

French Legend, Zinedine Zidane is arguably the most graceful player to have ever kicked a football. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time and is looked upon by many young footballers.

He remains one of only 8 footballers to have won the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and the Ballon D’or and could have ended his career with another World Cup victory to his name. However, his last match was marred with controversy instead as his career ended anticlimactically with a red card.

The French Playmaker headbutted Italian Player Marco Materazzi. He was then awarded the send-off after scoring France’s only goal in the match. The Final went to penalty shootouts and the Italians came out on top to become world champions. Zidane has not played in another professional match since but the French stalwart has occasionally dabbled in Charity matches.

Zizou turns back time

The Real Madrid manager, who recently turned 47, turned the clock back in a charity match recently as he scored a phenomenal goal. While facing ‘Crazy Squad’, he brilliantly flicked the ball up to hoodwink a defender before exchanging passes with a teammate. He then pushed the ball in, ever so gently, to get his name on the scoreboard.

Zidane was renowned for his elegance, vision, ball control and technique during his playing days. He played as an attacking Midfielder and turned out for Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid before finally calling it quits.

Zidane turned to coaching soon after and operated as the head coach of Real Madrid Castilla. He was handed the reins over the first team in 2016. Zidane then led the team to an unprecedented 3 consecutive champions league before resigning in 2018. He has made a return to Madrid as a manager once again.  The Frenchman is now busy overhauling a squad that did poorly in the year he wasn’t around.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
