West Indies have recalled the explosive Chris Gayle to their squad for their one-off T20 against India. Gayle has been selected into the squad at the expense of Lendl Simmons, whose poor form continues. Windies captain Jason Holder has been rested.
Chris Gayle last played a T20 for the West Indies, against England in the 2016 T20 World Cup final in India. The swashbuckling player is the West Indies’ highest run scorer in T20’s with 1519 runs to his name at a fantastic strike rate of 145.49 .

Courtney Browne added “ He(Gayle) will get a chance to play on his home ground against a top-quality Indian team”.
The Windies’ are currently engaged in a five-match ODI series with India. The series is currently set at 2-1 with India leading. Both the teams will look to battle it out in the fifth and the final match of the ODI series at Jamaica before moving onto the T20 match.
The one-off T20I between these two teams is scheduled to take place on Sunday(9th July 2017) at around 21:00 hrs IST.
