Will MS Dhoni commentate during India vs Bangladesh day-night Test?

Will Dhoni commentate during India vs Bangladesh day-night Test: A source close to the legendary cricketer has opened up on the matter.

There is a lot of mystery regarding former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s immediate future as an international cricket.

The 38-year old cricketer had last played during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Dhoni had missed the West Indies tour due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley.

While there was no official reason why Dhoni missed the home T20Is against South Africa, it was reported that he himself made him unavailable for the Bangladesh T20Is.

If another report in the New Indian Express is to be believed, Dhoni won’t take part in international cricket this year. If that’s the case, he might be looking to make an international comeback during the ODI series in Australia in January 2020.

As recent as yesterday, it was made public that Star Sports have invited former Indian captains including Dhoni to commentate during the second Test of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India. Slated to be played at the Eden Gardens, it will be India’s first-ever day-night Test match.

The idea of Dhoni calling a game while being an active cricketer had it in it to create a buzz among his fans. However, going by a recent development, it seems that the idea was too good to be true. In an interview with PTI, a source close to Dhoni denied him commentating during the forthcoming match.

“There is no way he can commentate,” a source close to the player was quoted as saying to PTI. Only time till tell if Dhoni will make his presence feel in the commentary box or not later this month.
