Wolves 2-5 Chelsea: 5 Talking Points as Tammy Abraham scores hat-trick against Nuno Santo’s side | Premier League 2019/20

#2 Wolves were slow in their approach

From minute one, Chelsea held a higher ante to constantly pile pressure on the hosts. Since Frank Lampard likes to pressurize his opponents early, the Blues were winning back balls to control the game.

Nuno’s side were not good enough throughout the game. They were second-best and relied on the width produced by the full-backs despite possessing the likes of Joao Moutinho, Raul Jimenez, and Diogo Jota through the middle. Since they were passive in their approach, the Blues took whole advantage and scored goals, which shouldn’t have been conceded.

It was important that Nuno’s three centre-backs kept their shape, but they were fully exposed by Tammy Abraham, who claimed the man of the match award for that superior hat-trick.
