Bobby Lashley reveals how Vince McMahon reacted to him winning the WWE Championship. The Almighty beat The Miz to win the title on RAW this week.

Bobby Lashley is at the top of the mountain and he reached there the only way he knows how; in dominating fashion! He beat the Miz in a cruelly one sided match in the main event of this week’s episode of RAW to crown himself the new WWE Champion.

The Almighty was greeted on social media with congratulations from fans and colleagues. He is well on course to walk into Wrestlemania as WWE Champion; a position no one saw him in at the same time last year. How did Vince McMahon, the man in charge, react to his win on Monday night?

While speaking with Ryan Satin of Fox Sports, Lashley said that the WWE Chairman grabbed him as soon as he made his way backstage and told him that he was proud of him.

“When I was able to go through that curtain [after winning the WWE Championship] and give Vince a hug, he grabbed me, and he held me for a while and was like, ‘Man, I’m proud of you.”

Lashley also explained what Vince was expecting from his superstars and how he eventually became his boss’ version of an ideal WWE superstar.

“You’re not here to have fun. Vince doesn’t want you here to have fun, Vince wants to get in an argument with you because you’re fighting for something that you want, Vince wants you to step out of the box and do something bigger.”

“Vince wants you to want WrestleMania so much that the crowd forces them to give you that title. I think I started to get into that point this last year, several months definitely. I’ve been mean, man. I’ve been mean. I go out there with a vengeance, and there’s a whole lot of confidence running through me.”

Bobby called out Brock Lesnar in the same interview. However, it is likely that he will face Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania instead. Lashley played a pivotal role in the Scottish Psychopatch losing his title and McIntyre will more than likely want payback.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
