Goldberg gives his honest opinion on WWE Chairman Vince McMahon

Goldberg gives his honest opinion on WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The former Universal Champion revealed that his judgement of the WWE has changed since he joined them.

Vince McMahon is infamously petty. He turned Sting’s heroic debut at Survivor Series to help bring about the loss of Triple H’s ‘Authority’ into a WWE vs WCW angle that Triple H won. In comparison however, Goldberg has always been treated well by Vince and Co.

The WWE Hall of Famer has won a title almost every time he’s had a run with the promotion. He won the World Heavyweight Championship on his first run and returned a few more times since 2016 to grab the Universal title a couple times.

It has since emerged that Sting was unhappy during his time in the WWE but what about Goldberg? What does he think of the promotion he once considered the ‘enemy’ and what are his thoughts on the man running the joint?

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Goldberg revealed that he used to hate Vince McMahon. However, he thinks the two have now grown as friends.

“I hated him in the beginning, and now I’d die for him,” Goldberg said. “Let’s be perfectly honest. I don’t think there’s a bigger swing of judgment than I have had since I’ve been in WWE, I went into the business at WWE with unrealistic expectations.

“I went into WWE with my back against the wall, thinking everyone was out to get me. It was a tough situation for me to exist in, and it was almost an impossible situation for me to coexist in on a positive note. With that first year out of the way, I’ve grown as a wrestler. I’ve grown as a human being, and I’d like to think that Vince and I have grown as friends.”

Goldberg has been used sparingly by the WWE since rejoining them in 2016. He had four matches since his return at that year’s Survivor Series to Wrestlemania 2017. Following his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2018, many believed he had retired. However, he returned for another run of 4 matches that began against the Undertaker at WWE Super Showdown last year.

He would recapture the Universal Championship once again before dropping the title to Braun Strowman at this year’s Wrestlemania. Goldberg is currently not involved in the WWE’s programming. Although, he has been teasing a feud with Roman Reigns lately with rumors claiming that they will face each other at Wrestlemania. Nothing however, is confirmed as of yet.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
