After carving out a respectable wrestling career, John Cena found his breakthrough in Hollywood. John Cena is one of the wealthiest WWE superstars. His affluence increased exponentially after he became a full-time movie star. John likes to spend his money on charity and collecting cars. John Cena’s love for cars is substantiated by his garage filled with luxurious cars. But unlike other celebrities, Cena uses a humble car for his daily commute rather than an exotic car.
John Cena’s garage may be the dream of a car enthusiast. However, John Cena uses a Honda Civic as his daily driver. His car collection includes cars from various brands such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, Lamborghini, and many more. During an interview ahead of WrestleMania 39, John Cena explained why he is so fond of his Honda Civic.
John Cena’s daily driver is a Honda Civic
While speaking with Andrew Santino on Whisky Ginger, John Cena revealed his daily driver to be a Honda Civic Type R. It’s worth noting that the market price of the car is around $42,000. John Cena’s most expensive car, a 1986 Lamborghini Countach, costs around $500,000. But John Cena finds his manual Honda Civic more convenient to travel.
“It’s got tech, it’s manual, it’s reliable. It’s a 2020 and it’s got a third pedal. At 145 [mph] it’s stable. It’s got seats in the back. I can actually pick people up.”
The Fast and Furious 9 actor prefers to drive his Civic due to its reliability. Especially, if he has to go somewhere substantial over 10 miles. Cena’s Honda is a 2020 model with a third pedal. According to Cena, the car is “stable” at 145 mph. The $80 million worth actor also discussed his pet peeves with a Countach.
“If you have a purse in a Countach, you’re screwed. The clutch is a dogfight and it’s really tough to get those things running right. So, if I actually need to drive a car more than 10 miles, it’s the Civic.”
John Cena once became the voice of Honda
In 2021, John Cena became Honda’s newest spokesperson. Honda’s Vice President, Jay Joseph, announced that John Cena was the company’s new voice due to his toughness, strength, and proclivity for cars. The Tokyo-based car company certainly did not fail to notice John Cena’s passion for cars.
Jay Joseph stated in a press conference-
“John Cena is known for his toughness and strength. But he also has a lot of heart, and he’s a real car enthusiast, making him a perfect fit to be the new voice of Honda.”
