Edge set to work as Babyface at WWE SummerSlam 2021

Edge set to work as Babyface at WWE SummerSlam 2021. The Rated R Superstar was last seen at Wrestlemania 37 where he fought Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.

WWE Superstar Edge has not been seen on WWE television since Wrestlemania 37. The Rated-R Superstar fought Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan for the Universal Champion in a triple threat match in the main event of the biggest show of the year but failed to come out on top.

The WWE have already advertised Edge for the July 16th’s episode of WWE SmackDown. According to the  Wrestling Observer Newsletter his return also lines up with a match at SummerSlam as well.

“Since Edge is billed to return on the Houston Smackdown, and there is talk about bringing back big names, his wrestling at SummerSlam seems to add up.”

According to a report by Jon Alba, the Rated R Superstar is not only penciled in for SummerSlam but he will also work as a babyface.

“Reported on @theLTGpodcast Patreon this week Edge is currently penciled in for the SummerSlam card as a babyface on the Smackdown side. Seems to give credence to that”

Edge has mostly worked as a babyface since his return. However, he displayed heel tendencies during his feud with Reigns and Bryan. The live crowd is unlikely to boo Edge. It seems that the WWE have realised that and decided for him to work as a face again.

There is no word on who he will face at SummerSlam. But the SmackDown roster is not short on amazing talent on the heel side. There’s Sami Zayn, Corbin, Apollo Crews and a dream match waiting to happen in Seth Rollins.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
