Former NXT Champion Andrade asks for WWE release

Former NXT Champion Andrade asks for WWE release according to reports. He was last seen on WWE TV during the 2020 Draft in October.

Andrade walked into the WWE as a potential future Superstar and main eventer. He made his NXT debut in 2016 and won the NXT Championship from Drew McIntyre just a little under two years later. Andrade held the title for 140 days, putting on a classic with Johnny Gargano before dropping the title to Aleister Black.

He then moved to the main roster. The WWE had long been awaiting a Hispanic star to take over from Eddie Guerrero and many believed that Andrade was the man. However, it seems that the WWE did not think this way considering he has only won the United States Championship, once, and has not even been seen at all on WWE TV since October last year.

It appears that Andrade is not too pleased with his situation in the WWE and has asked for his release according to a report from Wrestling Inc.

The report adds that Andrade asked for his release while at the RAW taping this past Monday night. It is unclear if Vince McMahon is agreed to grant his request.

Andrade was last seen on RAW around the 2020 WWE Draft in October. Although he has been listed as a RAW Superstar, he was never actually drafted to either brand,

Andrade has also removed all references of the WWE from his social media. He changed his Twitter handle from @AndradeCienWWE to @AndradeElIdolo. His twitter bio no longer mentions him as a WWE Superstar although his Instagram bio still lists him as a WWE Superstar.

He posted a picture of himself on instagram captioned:

“Si no te gusta donde estás muévete no eres un árbol! Feliz fin de semana! If you don’t like where you are, move you are not a tree. Great weekend! #andrade #elidolo #outfit #style #estilo #salud #weekend”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
