WWE Star Wars

The Star Wars trilogy may be the highest-grossing movie franchise after Marvel Cinematic Universe but, WWE superstar Sheamus is not a fan. In fact, the former World Champion thinks the film series is “garbage”. Star Wars is one of the most popular film series due to its high-octane genre. The multi-genre film series has fans from different demographics. A Star Wars fan would argue that the film franchise revolutionized Hollywood.

In a live “Out of Character” interview with Ryan Satin at the WrestleMania Superstore, Sheamus debated about the best movie trilogy with the live audience. Sheamus started by asking the fans what was their favorite movie trilogy. One fan responded, saying “Harry Potter”.

The answer was invalid, as Sheamus pointed out that Harry Potter was not a trilogy. Ryan Satin jumped in and went with Star Wars. Sheamus emphatically said “No” to Star Wars, to Satin’s surprise.

Sheamus calls Star Wars “Garbage” and names his favorite film trilogy

A kid from the crowd named Back To The Future his favorite film trilogy. And Sheamus couldn’t agree more. Sheamus immediately told Satin to reward that child with $1000. Satin then argued that Back To The Future 3 was not very compelling.

In response, Sheamus defended the movie franchise. According to the Irish wrestler, the first two parts of the movie were strong enough to hide the flaws in the third installment.

Satin argued that all Star Wars installments were “strong”.

“It’s garbage, mate!” replied Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior also added that Star Wars was a “terrible movie”. When Satin asked Sheamus his favorite movie, he decisively said- “Back To The Future”.

“That was like saying Star Wars, You think Return Of The Jedi was a strong movie?… It’s Garbage, Mate… I thought it was a Terrible Movie.”

Has Sheamus ever been featured in movies?

The 45-year-old wrestler is no stranger to being cast in Hollywood. He first made his splash on the silver screen in the 2009 film- The Legend Of The Bog. Sheamus did a handful of movies after that as well. However, as a full-time WWE superstar, The Celtic Warrior hasn’t completely immersed himself in Hollywood.

Interestingly, Sheamus was once rumored to be in the cast of Star Wars 7. In 2014, Sheamus was seen visiting Skellig Michael in Ireland, which was also the place where Star Wars 7 was being shot. This led to rumors that Sheamus was involved in the film. However, that wasn’t the case.

Sheamus has played small roles in various other movies such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of The Shadow, Buddy Games, The Main Event, and more.
