Former WWE Champion The Miz, made it known that he wants to play the part of Johnny Cage in the next Mortal Kombat movie. He posted a picture of himself on Twitter with the following caption:

Ed Boon, the co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, seemed to be in sync with the A-Lister’s pitch to play the part of the narcisistic movie star in the next movie. He wrote:

“Guy makes a compelling case.”

The Miz would be a perfect fit to play the role of the cocky, overconfident, Hollywood star. He already plays the role on WWE TV and has been doing so for almost two decades. It will be interesting to see the A-Lister bring this character to life on the big screen.

It may be possible that someone else actually gets casted in the role, but as of now, the nod from the creator itself will serve as major encouragement for the Miz.

Linden Ashby played Johnny Cage in the 1995 film.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
