WWE announce huge changes regarding SmackDown Women’s Championship and Money in the Bank match

WWE announce huge changes regarding SmackDown Women’s Championship and Money in the Bank match following Bayley’s injury.

Bayley’s unexpected injury has forced the WWE to change their plans. When announcing Bayley’s injury, the company also informed the fans that a replacement would be announced on SmackDown tonight. The announcement was made as promise but there were other changes that not many would have seen coming.

Bianca Belair was originally supposed to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley in an ‘I Quit’ match at Money in the Bank. With her out of the PPV, the WWE decided to remove the match from the event altogether and put in on the next week’s episode of SmackDown instead.

Carmella was announced as Bayley’s replacement for the match that has now been rescheduled to take place on Friday instead. This infuriated Liv Morgan who accused Sonya Deville of favoritism. Deville then revealed that Carmella’s place in the ladder match had been forfeited and it now belonged to Morgan.

Morgan then told Carmella that she hoped she wins the title so she can cash it in on her after winning the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Liv now joins Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross and Zelina Vega as confirmed MITB entrants. There are two more blue brand spots to be filled.

One can only wonder why the title match was taken off the PPV. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that next week’s episode of SmackDown will be their first show on their return to the road and they want to give fans a championship match as a welcome back treat.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
