WWE grants Andrade release from his contract

WWE grants Andrade release from his contract. The former United States and NXT Champion is no longer an active WWE Superstar.

For all of his talents, Andrade’s career in the WWE had stalled for so long. The company has long been looking for someone to replace Eddie Guerrero as their top Hispanic star. However, Andrade, who came gift wrapped to them, was held back and never given a real go on the main roster.

WWE grants Andrade release from his contract

The WWE granted Andrade his release after tonight’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view. In a statement released, the company confirmed that the two had parted ways and the Mexican is no longer a part of their roster.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Andrade signed with NXT back in 2015. His career took off after being paired with Zelina Vega. He went on to beat Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship, a title he held for 140 days. Andrade moved up to the SmackDown in 2018. He went on to win the United States Championship in 2019. Unfortunately, his career never hit the same heignts on the main roster.

He is engaged to WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair. There were reports that the two would comeback together as an on screen pair last year. Unfortunately that never happened. While Charlotte became a prominent fixture on RAW, Creative had nothing for Andrade.

He is now free to write his own destiny as soon as his 90-day non-compete clause is up.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
