WWE Star Paige optimistic for an in-ring return to Wrestling. The former Divas Champion had to retire in 2018 owing to a neck injury.

Wrestlers usually tend to hit their stride by their late 20’s. Paige however, had to retire at the young age of 26. The now 28-year old suffered an unfortunate injury during a house show. The impact to her neck from the match kept her from competing for a few months before she officially announced her decision to call the curtains on her career.

The former Divas Champion however, is hopeful of a return to the squared circle one day. Replying to a tweet from WWE on Fox, Paige wrote one day’ with a fingers crossed emoji indicating that she hasn’t given up on wrestling yet.

The two stars in the tweet from WWE on FOX are Daniel Bryan and Edge, two wrestlers who had to ‘retire’ from wrestling following career ending injuries. Both of them would successfully make an eventual return to the WWE.

Bryan injured himself during a match on SmackDown back in 2015. After 10 months away, he announced his retirement due to medical reasons. Close to 3 years later, Bryan announced that he had been cleared to return for in-ring competition and wrestled his first match at Wrestlemania 34.

Edge retired after Wrestlemania 27. He was diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis. Doctors warned him of the risks of neck-down paralysis or even death. Edge then announced his retirement before making an unexpected return at last year’s Royal Rumble.

Like the two men above, Paige is hopeful that she will one day walk out to a WWE ring as a member of the roster. At 28, she still has time on her side. Here’s to hoping we haven’t seen the last of her and the Rampaige.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
