WWE Superstar Edge made a triumphant return at the Royal Rumble and was immediately placed in a storyline with Randy Orton. The former Rated-RKO put on a show at Wrestlemania. However, they went to war at Backlash and stole the show.

Dubbed ‘The greatest match ever’, Edge and Orton had a lot to live up to. The pair did not disappoint as they gave mind and body to produce a classic. However, Edge had to pay for it with his body. The WWE confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps and has since undergone successful surgery.

Edge’s lifelong friend Christian made a return to the WWE only to be laid out by Orton. This prompted a promo from Edge who insisted that this was far from over. However, that has led many to question if the injury is also part of a storyline.

The Rated-R superstar took to Instagram to prove that his injuries were indeed real and not part of a storyline. He posted pictures of his torn muscle.

“Some folks have asked if my injury is part of a storyline. It’s not,” Edge wrote. “I wish it was. Here’s what a torn triceps looks like. Elbow Tartare. Now, nose to the grindstone.”

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
