Tony Khan heel Vince McMahon

Despite RAW’s 30th Anniversary next week and Cody Rhodes announcing his arrival at the Royal Rumble, the talk of the town is WWE going for a sale. In fact, this whole month so far has been all about Vince McMahon powering back himself into the company. However, among other contenders, recent reports claimed Tony and Shad Khan were also interested in purchasing WWE. Back then, those were just rumors, but now, the AEW owner has talked about the matter himself.

Recently, Tony Khan appeared on The Maggie and Perloff Show where he discussed Vince McMahon potentially selling WWE. The owner of AEW and ROH also shared whether he can end up buying the billion-dollar promotion.

Tony Khan believes in his ability and if there’s a sale, he is interested in buying WWE

Speaking on the show, Tony Khan stated he is interested in the news that WWE might potentially be on sale. The AEW President then mentioned how he and his father have shown their capability of making big purchases in the past.

Talking about buying a big company, Khan discussed how his father did a great job with Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham FC. He mentioned how Shahid Khan put resources to build those companies.

Mr. Khan then shifted his focus to how he has proven his ability with AEW and ROH. Tone discussed how he built the AEW company and later purchased a decades-old promotion like ROH.

As far as buying WWE is concerned, Tony Khan feels it’s too early to say anything about it. However, if there’s a process in the future, which he thinks will be, he is in.

“It’s very preliminary to talk about that process[WWE getting sold]. If there is a process there, which it sounds like there may be, I’m interested in being part of it,” Tony said.

The AEW President also discussed Stephanie’s resignation and his relationship with Vince McMahon

On the same show, Tony Khan was also asked about his connection with the WWE owner. The AEW President outright denied having any kind of relationship with Mr. McMahon. Though, he mentioned how he had talked to Stephanie in the past. Although Tony claimed she treated him well, but refused to say anything about her recent resignation.

Nevertheless, now that Tony Khan has openly expressed his desire to purchase Vince’s WWE, let’s see if enters the race. Who knows, if he succeeds, he could do the same Mr. McMahon did will WCW a couple of decades ago. Though for that to happen, the AEW owner will have to overpower big names like Amazon, Disney, and Saudi’s PIF.
