Say what you will about Chris Jericho, but nobody can deny that he is one of the most talented wrestlers ever to grace the squared circle. The wrestling veteran started wrestling at the early age of 19. The 52-year-old Canadian wrestler is still active in the ring performing to the best of his abilities and winning Championship titles. The former Ring of Honor Champion is well known for his stint in WWE. During his time with the Stanford-based company, Jericho worked closely with the then-boss, Vince McMahon.
One of the most significant achievements of his career was when he beat the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night and unified the WCW and WWF titles becoming the first-ever WWF Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.
Aside from his accomplishments in the ring, Y2J was the brainchild of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. His wrestling skills and intelligence made him one of Vince McMahon’s finest.
Chris Jericho recalls when Vince McMahon trolled him for a botched spot for weeks
It’s worth noting that even though Jericho is a fixture of AEW now, he left WWE on good terms. Famously known for being the best in the world at what he does, Jericho once botched a spot in the ring that Vince McMahon considered one of the best botches in wrestling.
So much so that he poked fun at Jericho for weeks following the botch. Speaking on YoJosh Martinez’s “Superstar Crossover”, Jericho looked back on when one of his most embarrassing moments in WWE.

According to Jericho, he was doing a house show match with Cesaro, now known as Claudio Castagnoli. During the match, Jericho was climbing the top turnbuckle but his knee brace got stuck with the rope leading to his awkward fall into the ring.
McMahon wasted little time and added insult to injury by displaying Jericho’s Awkward fall on the giant screen for weeks. Jericho even added that at the time of the botch, he was a babyface and that the move was supposed to be a shift in momentum in the match. Jericho’s co-workers laughed for weeks at the footage in good humor thanks to Vince McMahon.
Is there a such thing as a botch? Is a botch a mistake? Chris Jericho mentioned on the True Geordie Podcast that he doesn’t think so. He also noted that wrestlers, unlike actors, only get one take, so they don’t get a redo. #AEW #AEWDynamite pic.twitter.com/LI97JmD65L

“Well, that’s embarrassing enough as it is, but for some reason, Vince McMahon got a clip of it and proceeded to show it for the next like four weeks every time everyone was in the arena going over their stuff before the show,” Jericho said.

“I said, here’s the offer that I’ve gotten from this new company, and I was told to, Vince said, ‘Take it.’ I think he thought I was bluffing. And when I took it, then about a week later he’s like, ‘You took it?’ I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Can you get out of it?’ I said, ‘No! You told me to take it, why would I try to get out of it?”
