WWE Universe has seen many legends coming out of retirement and performing in the squared circle. However, for that to happen, it needs an able active superstar who can carry most of the match. And when you talk about current WWE superstars with such potential, Kevin Owens’ name will always pop up. Earlier this year, the PrizeFighter delivered an entertainer against Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38. Now, a recent report claims Owens pitched a match against WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels.
By now, every WWE fan and critic knows that Kevin Owens is more than able to pull off a match against any opponent. In fact, he single-handedly carried his feud with Stone Cold up until the Show of Shows.
Well, confident after his WrestleMania 38 performance, it appears the former Universal Champion wants to face HBK now. In his recent appearance on “Sans Restriction” podcast, the PrizeFighter revealed that he had approached The Showstopper about possibly doing a match.
Now Fightful Select‘s Sean Ross Sapp has provided some more details about the whole thing.
Shawn Michaels liked the idea but eventually refused to wrestle one more match
According to Sean Ross Sapp, when Kevin Owens approached Shawn Michaels, he was intrigued by the idea of a possible match. In fact, the current Head of NXT applauded the PrizeFighter for his performance against Austin earlier this year.

However, Shawn Michaels refused the match as he thinks coming out of retirement will be a bad idea. Moreover, this is not the first time someone has pitched such kind of idea to Mr. WrestleMania.
Fightful Select noted that AJ Styles also once approached Shawn Michaels for a potential match at WrestleMania. However, the Hall of Famer said no to the offer as well.
Anyway, if Michaels agrees to wrestle Kevin Owens in the future, fans should not be surprised. HBK has done that in the past and can do it again.
The Hall of Famer once come out of retirement and received a whopping $3 Million
Shawn Michales hung up his wrestling boots after an epic match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26. However, 8 years later, the Showstopper came out of retirement to wrestle one more match.
At the 2018 Crown Jewel, HBK teamed up with his DX buddy Triple H and defeated The Undertaker and Kane. Although the match and in fact, the whole PPV received heavy criticism, Shawn Michaels was paid $3 Million for that appearance.

Nevertheless, with Triple H, who is a long-time friend of HBK, controlling the main roster, nothing can be overlooked. Who knows, Mr. WrestleMania might surprise WWE fans by performing at next year’s show of shows. Though as of now, Shawn Michaels has refused Owens’ offer to wrestle one more match.
