Vince McMahon Bray Wyatt

Earlier this year in July, Vince McMahon was forced to retire after WSJ reported that he paid multiple women millions of dollars in hush money to cover his sexual affairs. Fast forward to the present day, WSJ reported that one of his alleged victims, Rita Chatterton made new demands suing McMahon for around $12M in compensation for having his way with her in a limo. In addition, another alleged victim, a spa worker, had her lawyer email McMahon’s attorney demanding an undisclosed amount of money.

Despite being in trouble yet again, McMahon is reportedly thinking of making a comeback. According to reports, McMahon claimed that he was given “bad advice” from people close to him that pressured him into retirement.

While many do not support the idea of his return, a certain WWE Hall of Famer is all for it. As of this writing, there are no updates on his return but the rumor has become a cause for concern backstage.

Teddy Long comments on Vince McMahon’s possible return

Former general manager of SmackDown Theodore Long worked closely with Vince McMahon during his active years in WWE. Long is recognized for his stint with WCW and WWE. Having worked for nearly two decades alongside McMahon, Long is more than supportive of the idea of McMahon’s return.

Speaking on the Sportskeeda Wrestling podcast, Long had nothing but positive things to say about McMahon’s return. According to him, there was no reason for the former CEO to step down from his role in the first place.

“I just didn’t see any reason for him to step away, and if he wants to come back, let him come back.”

“He’s done this his whole entire life, and to be away, I would imagine that takes a lot from him not being able to involve himself into what he’s been involved in all his life.” Said Long.

“I’d like to see him come back. I got no problem with it.” He added.

Although there aren’t many people who hold the same opinion of Vince McMahon’s rumored return, Teddy Long and Ric Flair are two legends who have openly supported Vince McMahon’s possible comeback. It remains to be seen if Vince McMahon shocks the WWE Universe yet again with his return.

Vince McMahon’s close ally believes his return could harm the company

Although Vince McMahon is still in retirement, he still is the largest shareholder in the company which makes him entitled to a possible return. However, one of his closest allies revealed to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer that his return could be detrimental to the company. According to him, if Vince did return, it would “cripple the entire company”.

“What if (he) decided to upend the entire Board (he has 80 percent voting stock) and is still the largest owner of common stock? The class action shareholder lawsuits would cripple the entire company. The networks would balk. FOX had to get rid of Roger Ailes. I don’t think they will be favorable to his return.

The source also indicated that the damage will not be as bad if Vince takes up a “lesser role”. but, the Vince we know will never settle for less. The 77-year-old is already blaming his close ones who reportedly persuaded him into retirement. If the former boss ever returns, there may be hell to pay.
