Yerry Mina is currently heavily linked with Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Everton.

Yerry Mina signed for Barcelona in January. One of the hottest defensive prospects of world football signed for the Catalans from Brazilian club Palmeiras. The Colombian defender was helped to settle into the club by his South American fellows.

Those were the cheerful figures of Luis Suarez and Leo Messi. Just a little above six months into his Barcelona career, Mina has uncertainties about his future, but for sure has some amazing memories.

The 23 year spoke about how he was helped by teammates to settle into the Spanish city. His Argentine and Uruguayan teammates played free kick taking challenges with him. The three would bet on who would score the most.

Unsurprisingly, Mina was most of the times on the losing side. Every time he lost, he’d be paying the duo €50 every day at training. He defined the two as great friends.

In an interview with the Bocas magazine, Yerry Mina said: ‘When I first joined the club, I started betting with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to generate a good atmosphere.

‘It was to see who could take the best free-kicks in training but every day I was losing €50.

‘And I was like, “what, I’m paying for these guys to go shopping!”

‘I had to laugh but the truth is those monsters put the ball where they want, they are great people as well as magicians.’

He added: ‘In terms of my future, I have no idea but I’m calm about it. I’m 23 years old and have a lot of football left to play.’

Despite feeling at home in Barcelona, Mina has been linked with a summer move away from the Nou Camp and admits he is uncertain what the future holds.

Manchester United and Everton are among the clubs who have been credited with interest in Mina.
