This case is a bit different from the rest of the games, over here there was no last-minute goal and penalties to overcome the deficit. The Blades has one of the best defensive setups in the league and on that day they stood up to the hype.

Sheffield United did choke Liverpool in midfield and it was difficult for Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah to find gaps at regular intervals to pose enough threat.

Moreover, tactical and defensive discipline did benefit Sheffield United. It certainly looked that Liverpool will drop points for the first time in the season, as a goalless draw was on the cards.

However, it took one of the strangest blunders by Sheffield United’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson to make Liverpool win, as the ball slipped through his legs from a weak strike of Gini Wijnaldum.

The goal was quite shocking and disheartening for Sheffield United, who kept on thwarting every chance made by Liverpool and one silly error cost them the game. Certainly, the gods were with the Merseyside club on that day.
