Juhi Chawla’s daughter Janvi Mehta set to take charge of KKR from the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League in 2020

Seems like the IPL frachise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have made up their minds to commence the next season of the marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) with new reinvigorated sets of management personnel and owners.

After deciding to part ways with their former coaches– Jaques Kallis and Simon Katich, KKR had, just a day ago decided to rope in the current England Head Coach Trevor Bayliss and former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum as coach and batting coach respectively.

Now, as per the new recent reports, the KKR are most likely to make way for another change in their management, with Juhi Chawla’s daughter- Janvi Mehta set to take charge of the team along with the already existing co-owner Jay Mehta.

The 18-year-old has played active roles for KKR in the past

It is worth mentioning that Janvi Mehta has played active roles in the functioning of the franchise in the past. She was a crucial part of the think-tank and had gathered the spotlight a couple of years ago, when she had matched an aggressively-bidding Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner Preity Zinta bid-by-bid during the auctions.

KKR seem to be falling in line with the strategy adopted by the five-time winner frachise Mumbai Indians (MI), who had also charged the functioning responsibility to Mukesh Ambani’s son- Akash Ambani.

“Youngsters tend to bring in fresh energy. Akash’s presence in the Mumbai Indians set-up has led to some very exciting things happening there. It’s the way forward and time for new ideas to seep in,” a source was quoted as saying in The Times of India.

Janvi is the elder child of the Industrialist and owner of Mehta Group, Jay Mehta, and Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla. After representing KKR at the IPL auctions in January 2018, she became the youngest person in the history of the marquee league to sit at an IPL auction table (at age 16).
