Gareth Bale: Zinedine Zidane denies disrespecting Welsh Winger, blames his Spanish for the misunderstanding after Bale’s agent called him a disgrace.
Zinedine Zidane stirred quite the storm after Real Madrid’s match against Bayer Munich. After the match, the Frenchman had said that he hoped Gareth Bale would leave the club soon. He added that if it happened the next day then it would be better.

This resulted in Zidane receiving criticism from many for disrespecting a player who played a major role in helping the club win their last Champions league final. Bale’s manager Jonathan Barnett went so far as to call Zidane a disgrace. However, Zidane is now denying the accusations that he disrespected Bale.
Zidane clears the air
In an interview per ESPN, Zidane has said that it was the club and not him personally who wanted Bale sold. He put the blame on his ‘Suspect Spanish’ for the whole misunderstanding.

“At times my Spanish is very suspect,” Zidane told reporters. “I want to be very clear about this. Firstly, I have not disrespected anybody and least of all the player.
“I have always said the same, the players are the most important and every time I am with a player here, I will be with them always.
“Second thing, I said the club is trying to sell him. Third point, I think it is very important and crucial to say that the other day Gareth did not [play] because he did not want to.
“He will train with us today. He will train with the squad today but tomorrow is tomorrow.
“Gareth is a Real Madrid player. That is the most important thing, he is a player for the squad.”
