Matteo Guendouzi apparently bickered with John Terry and gestured “I’m in your head”
Matteo Guendouzi apparently bickered with John Terry and gestured “I’m in your head” during Arsenal’s match with Aston Villa in the Premier League last night.
Arsenal scripted a miracle victory against Aston Villa last night. The North Londoner’s had squandered a 2-0 lead against Watford last week to draw the match and looked set to perform even worse against Villa. By half-time, the gunners were down to 10 men and had already conceded once.

However, when push came to shove, the players finally stood tall to the challenge. They overturned the deficit to register a 3-2 victory very late in the game. Arsenal needed a personality shift after being morally down and it came from the midfield in the form of Matteo Guendouzi.

Since their win against Burnley, Arsenal had gone on to register a loss and a couple of draws. It looked like their winless run would continue. However, Guendouzi was not willing to take the loss lying on his back. Instead he chose to fight and fight he did.

A fan named Seangooner, who was in attendance for the match between Arsenal and Aston Villa, claims that he sat right behind Villa’s bench and witnessed Gendouzi gesturing to John Terry “I’m in your head” after Arsenal scored their late winner.

He further added that from the 85th minute onwards, every time the Frenchman successfully passed the ball or won a foul, he would give Terry the stare.

Arsenal Manager Unai Emery was full of praise for the youngster after the match.
“With Matteo, last year when he came here, he progressed and he is progressing.
“Really, I like that spirit he has, he has talent but above all his attitude, his energy, his commitment and his behaviour. He’s one player who is angry when he is not playing, but I like that.
“He is improving. I want to be calm with him. He is humble and continuing improving and growing up with us.”
