Jurgen Klopp predicted Liverpool will win Premier League by 2020 in his first press conference

Jurgen Klopp surprisingly predicted Liverpool’s first Premier League victory by 2020 as his first press conference as Liverpool manager surfaces.

Liverpool has seen an astronomical rise in European football, the team is undefeated in more than 40 matches in the Premier League and are on the verge of grabbing a record title victory.

However, it took a lot of efforts for the Reds to reach till here and last season they lost the league by just 1 point of the final matchday of the Premier League, which could have been their first title victory in more than 30 years.

But it was worth the wait as Liverpool has dominated all the teams so far in the league this season, even their rivals Manchester City (in terms of quality) and they are aiming to have an invincible claim by not losing any game which has only been done by Arsenal before.

Amidst all of this, Klopp made his prophecy come real, as during his first press conference he predicted that Liverpool will win the league by 2020, as he asked four years time to achieve the title during his first press conference.

Last night we signed the contract and this morning I wake and I’m the manager of Liverpool FC. Please give us time to do the work but when I sit here in four years I think we may have one title. If not maybe [I’ll win] the next one in Switzerland!” he said back in 2016.

The Anfield side then drew their first two games under Klopp, against Spurs and Southampton, but in his first press conference the new boss also explained it was how he finished there and not how he started, saying,

“I said when I left Dortmund it’s not important what you think when someone comes in. It’s important what you think when people leave. That when you leave it’s a special day.

“Twenty-five years ago (since the last league title) is a long time. History is only the base for us, (we shouldn’t) keep the history in our backpack all day.

“I want to see the first step next week and not always compare with other times. This is a great club with big potential. Everything is there. Let’s try to start a new way.” said Klopp

Apart from dominating the league, Liverpool sealed the Champions League title last season with historic triumph over Barcelona in semi-finals and Tottenham Hotspur in the finale.
