MS Dhoni beats Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar: The legendary Indian wicket-keeper batsman has achieved another milestone.

YouGov’s latest annual survey finds India Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the most admired man in India. At the global level, Bill Gates was declared the most admired man.

The survey included 42,000 people around the globe who selected the most admired men and women in the world. Among the women, Michelle Obama won the title at a global level. Among the Indians, boxer Mary Kom was declared as the most admired woman in India.

MS Dhoni beats Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar

Former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni falls second on the list after Modi. While the Prime Minister’s admiration score is 15.66%, Dhoni’s admiration score is 8.58% – the highest among sports persons.

Dhoni, who features second on the list in India, holds a higher position than Ratan Tata (8.02%), Barack Obama (7.36%) and Bill Gates (6.96%).

Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award yesterday, is next on the list with an admiration score of 6.55%.

Among the other cricketers, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and India captain Virat Kohli fall behind Bachchan with an admiration score of 5.81% and 4.45% respectively.

Talking about Dhoni, the 38-year old cricketer had made himself unavailable from the recently concluded tour of West Indies and the ongoing series against South Africa.

While Dhoni missed the West Indies tour due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley, there is no official reason why he missed the South Africa T20Is. Given his status in the country, there have been plentiful speculations regarding his retirement from international cricket without any official confirmation.
