Sourav Ganguly wants Virat Kohli to include Yuzvendra Chahal in T20I squad
Sourav Ganguly wants Virat Kohli: The former Indian captain has suggested the current Indian captain to make two changes.
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly expects current captain Virat Kohli to “stay calm” with respect to the ICC T20 World Cup slated to be played in Australia next year.
“The T20 World Cup is in Australia next year and opinions and judgments will be passed. The key person amidst all this will be Virat Kohli, and it will be important for him to stay calm for a long period of time,” Ganguly wrote in his column for The Times of India.
Glad to be back for the 2nd edition of @sportshonours . A good initiative to honour those who won laurels for the country and encourage those who will be the future of Indian sports. 🇮🇳#BlueRising @Cornerstone_CSE #RPSGgroup pic.twitter.com/IvA436qibm

Sourav Ganguly wants Virat Kohli to drop Krunal Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja in T20Is
Writing about the team combination for the World Cup, Ganguly opined against the idea of playing two left-arm spinners in Ravindra Jadeja and Krunal Pandya in the same XI. The 47-year old supported the idea of playing leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the World Cup.
“India doesn’t need two left-arm spinners [Ravindra Jadeja and Krunal Pandya]. The test series will start soon, and hopefully, India will play on good pitches and not rank turners, as it has been in the last series because India is very good team on any surface.
“This is a good team but Virat needs to bring back the wrist spinners into this format. I hope Yuzvendra Chahal has only been rested to give opportunity to others, or else he is a must for India in the T20 format,” Ganguly said.
In a recent interview with Aaj Tak, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had also spoken in support of Chahal’s presence in the T20I squad. While Kohli had advocated for a long batting lineup, Yuvraj had laid emphasis on playing specialist spinners over all-rounders.
Much like Chahal, chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav has also been benched from the T20I squad. After the three-match Test series against South Africa, India will play a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh at home in November.
