WATCH: MS Dhoni lights up Jo’Burg with a mighty six
While the Indian team has excelled in the ODI series in South Africa, MS Dhoni has had a very quiet time with the bat.
With Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan having done the bulk of the scoring in the first 3 ODI’s, MS Dhoni wasn’t really presented with a good enough chance to show his lower order hitting skills.
But Rahane and Dhawan departing in quick succession after the ‘lightning halt’, the onus was on Iyer and Dhoni to keep the momentum going for India.
And MS Dhoni dished out an unreal slap over cover to give the Indian innings some much needed impetus after those two quick wickets.
For once it looked like Dhoni had holed out in the deep, but the power in those wrists and the high altitude Wanderers stadium were enough to ensure that they ball avoided the high-flying South African fielder on the cover boundary.

Match Situation
With Rohit Sharma having departed early once again, Dhawan and Kohli got together to string a beautiful partnership to put India in the drivers seat.
A false shot from Kohli brought Rahane to the pitch who tried to up the ante but lightning did not allow the play to go on.
With a break of 45 minutes, it was important for the Indian batsmen to find their groove once again, which they were ultimately unable to do.
Rahane and Dhawan couldn’t carry on from where they had left before the break and India were left with two new-comers at the pitch.
Iyer and Dhoni though have strung a decent enough partnership together and will hope to take India to a toal of at least 325.
