WATCH: Faf du Plessis shoulders arms to Mohammed Shami; off-stump flies in the air
Faf du Plessis shoulders arms to Mohammed Shami: The South African captain was undone by a ripper from the Indian pacer.
During the fifth day of the first Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Visakhapatnam, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis was beaten all ends up by India fast bowler Mohammed Shami.
The dismissal left the visiting captain in utter disbelief who was finding it hard to carry himself off the ground. Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 12th over, du Plessis ended up scoring 13 (26) with the help of three fours.
It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the 22nd over when du Plessis left an incoming delivery from Shami. In no position to change his initial decision, all du Plessis could see was his off-stump flying all over the place.
In what was an inspired spell of fast bowling from Shami, he dismissed three South African batsmen in Temba Bavuma (0), du Plessis and Quinton de Kock (0).
It is worth mentioning that the mode of dismissal remained same for all the three batsmen. Having bowled 18 wicket-less overs in the first innings, Shami would be delighted to contribute significantly in the second innings.
Chasing a 395-run target, South Africa got off to a shambolic start on the last day of the Test match. At the time of writing this article, the visitors have lost as many as eight wickets with more than 300 runs needed to win the match.

How Twitter reacted:
How good has Shami been today. Has hit the stumps three times. India has so many bowlers to turn to now. Won’t be surprised if even Ishant has a role to play

What makes Shami lethal when bowling in the second innings? @therealkapildev

Everytime Shami knocks over stumps, it always reminds me of his first test at Kolkata. Before Bumrah came on the scene, it was watching him bowl in spells like that which made me feel so good that we have such a skillful fast bowler. His progress off late is admirable #INDvSA
