MS Dhoni plays tennis tournament in Ranchi: The legendary wicket-keeper batsman was seen in a different role recently.

Former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni might be hiding his future plans as an international cricketer but he sure is indulging into other sports.

Earlier seen participating in a golf tournament in America, Dhoni was recently seen playing a lawn tennis tournament in his hometown Ranchi. It is reported that Dhoni not just participated in the same tournament last year but also won it.

Playing the ongoing season of the Country Cricket Club Tennis Tournament in the doubles category for men’s, Dhoni is said to have won the first match alongside his partner Sumit Kumar.

As far as cricket is concerned, the 38-year old cricketer had last played during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Dhoni had missed the West Indies tour due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley.

While there was no official reason why Dhoni missed the home T20Is against South Africa, it was again reported that he was unavailable for the Bangladesh T20Is as well.

Most recently, it was made public that Star Sports have invited former Indian captains including Dhoni to commentate during the second Test of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India. Slated to be played at the Eden Gardens, it will be India’s first-ever day-night Test match.

“There is no way he [MS Dhoni] can commentate,” a source close to Dhoni was quoted as saying to PTI in response to the same.
