Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly called Maurizio Sarri a ‘son of a w**re’ after being substituted for the second game in a row.

Cristiano Ronaldo has spent years in football trying to make himself a paragon of fitness and excellence. However, age is starting to catch up with him as his body continues to break down in front of our eyes. This has also had an adverse effect on his performances on the field.

After being substituted in their Champions League match, Ronaldo was once again substituted in Juventus’ match vs AC Milan on Sunday. The substitute Paulo Dybala went on to win the match for Juventus. However, Ronaldo did not bother to stay till the end of the match.

Some have speculated that Ronaldo was substituted because of a minor injury concern; one that has been plaguing him for a while. However, his reaction while being substituted was very interesting to say the least. Ronaldo seemingly muttered something to Maurizio Sarri before making his way down the tunnel.

The Dailymail have reported that the words mouthed by Cristiano Ronaldo for his manager were ‘Son of a w**re’. However, Gazzetta dello Sport, have reported that he will neither be punished for his outburst or his decision to leave the stadium early. He will be expected to apologise to the dressing room though.

Far little comeuppance for Sarri here as the supposed boss of the side. However, that is perhaps a reality Sarri will have to get used to so long as he has Cristiano Ronaldo in his team. Ronaldo will always be Juventus’ number one priority. Sarri will have to search deep and wide to find the balance between a star and a performer in Ronaldo if he is to make things work at Turin.
