Kuldeep Yadav registers second ODI hat-trick: The Indian spinner became the first Indian bowler to pick two ODI hat-tricks.
During the second ODI of the ongoing West Indies’ tour of India in Visakhapatnam, India spinner Kuldeep Yadav became the first Indian bowler to grab two ODI hat-tricks.
Not been in the best of forms in addition to not been given regular opportunities, Yadav made the best of his opportunity as he pushed West Indies out of the match.
Yadav, who was wicket-less in the last match, picked his first wicket in the form of West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope.
On the fourth delivery of the 33rd over, Hope’s attempt of playing the big shot against Yadav saw him skying the ball to India captain Virat Kohli at deep mid-wicket who grabbed a well-judged catch.
Opening the batting with Evin Lewis (30), Hope ended up scoring 78 (85) with the help of seven fours and three sixes. On the following delivery, Yadav teamed up with wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant to dismiss West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder (11) as his foot was outside the crease after he missed a delivery.
In a bid to assist his bowler to pick a hat-trick, Kohli stationed a second slip in the form of all-rounder Kedar Jadhav. With Alzarri Joseph (0) edging the ball, it was caught by Jadhav at second slip.
Having achieved the milestone, Yadav was seen celebrating whole-heartedly along with his teammates. With bowling figures of 10-0-52-3, Yadav has been the pick of the bowlers till now.
