Josh Philippe catch vs Scorchers: Sixers’ wicket-keeper grabbed a stunner to dismiss Scorchers’ opening batsman in Perth.

During the 12th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers in Perth, Sydney Sixers wicket-keeper batsman Josh Philippe put on display an incredible fielding effort to dismiss Perth Scorchers opening batsman Liam Livingstone.

It all happened on the first delivery of the second over when Livingstone’s attempt to step out against Sixers fast bowler Jackson Bird’s first delivery saw him edging the ball behind the wickets.

With the ball hitting the inside edge of Livingstone’s bat, it was going towards the left of Phillipe. It was at this point in time that the wicket-keeper dived full length to grab a stunner and draw first blood in the second innings.

Opening the batting with Josh Inglis (7), Livingstone ended up scoring 2 (6) as he initiated a batting collapse which saw the hosts losing five wickets around the powerplay.

Chasing a 175-run target, Scorchers’ batting effort has put in front of them a daunting task as far as winning this match is concerned.

Earlier, it was Perth captain Mitchell Marsh who won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first. Coming in to bat at No. 6 in the 14th over, Sydney pacer Tom Curran scored 43* (21) with the help of three fours and two sixes to propel his team to 174/7 in 20 overs. With bowling figures of 4-0-29-3, Scorchers pacer Chris Jordan was the pick of their bowlers.
