Glenn Maxwell sits down and slashes Wes Agar: Stars’ captain was seen playing a quickfire innings in a losing cause at the Carrara Oval.

During the 13th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars at the Carrara Oval, Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell put on display an unbelievable six off Adelaide Strikers pacer Wes Agar.

It all happened on the third delivery of the 16th over when Maxwell sat down to slash a wide delivery from Agar over the point region for an amazing six. Having produced six runs out of nowhere, Maxwell stunned one and all with his skills.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 10th over, Maxwell was the pick of the Stars batsmen as he scored 43 (25) with the help of one four and four sixes.

Chasing a 175-run target, the visitors needed 12 runs to win off the last over but disciplined bowling from Strikers pacer Peter Siddle saw them winning the match by 4 runs. Having registered bowling figures of 4-0-24-3, Siddle was the highest wicket-taker for the hosts.

After Maxwell won the toss and invited Adelaide in to bat, the home team posted 174/4 in 20 overs on the back of Jonathan Wells’ 68* (46) with the help of six fours. With bowling figures of 3-0-15-1, Stars spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was the best bowler for them.
