Christian Eriksen takes a brutal dig at Tottenham’s title chances
Christian Eriksen takes a brutal dig at Tottenham’s title chances following his January transfer to Serie A side Inter Milan.
Christian Eriksen joined Tottenham back in 2013 and stayed with them for almost 7 years. However, his last season was spent in discontent as it became apparent that he would not renew his contract with the club. Facing the prospect of losing him out on a free, Spurs decided to sell him to Inter Milan for £16.9m.

Despite being Champions League finalists last season, Eriksen failed to win a trophy at North London. A fact he claims was key to his departure. In what could potentially burn the bridge between him and his former club, Eriksen seems to have taken a shot at Tottenham’s empty handed returns during his time with them.

“There’s a big chance of winning a trophy here or a bigger chance than where I was of course,” Eriksen told Sky Sports.
“The Champions League final was a very bad day, we lost which you don’t want to remember.
“I’m here to win and start something new. The last time I won something was at Ajax so it’s many years ago. I still remember the feeling so I want to achieve it here as well.”
Not a lot of Tottenham fans would be happy with Eriksen praising his new club at the expense of his old. However, it looks like the Danish Playmaker does not care about what is thought of him at North London. In an interview with BBC Sport, he had previously spoken on how he was made to feel like the black sheep at Tottenham.
After what I said in the summer, it was just about ‘when is he going to leave?’ Eriksen said. Every game it was ‘Is he leaving? Is he not leaving?’ Of course, a lot of people were speaking about it.
“Even the fans you see on the street were like ‘Thank you, goodbye and good luck’. But I was still there. It was a bit weird. In my head and for my body, it is good that I am in a new place and I can start again.”
