Divyaansh Saxena fumes on Tanzim Hasan Sakib: The tempers were soaring in the first powerplay of the ongoing final.
During the final match of the ongoing ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup between India and Bangladesh in Potchefstroom, India opening batsmen in Yashasvi Jaiswal and Divyaansh Saxena were at loggerheads with the Bangladesh’s new ball bowlers in Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
With Bangladeshi bowlers bowling tight lines and lengths in the first powerplay, they followed it up with regular sharing of words after beating the Indian batsmen.
One such incident happened on the third delivery of the second over when Saxena defended a Sakib delivery back to him. It was at this point in time that Sakib threw the ball back in a bid to probably run-out the batsman.
However, his poor throw nearly hit Saxena on his helmet. Just when Sakib could have apologized to the batsman for his throw, him speaking aggressively to Saxena saw the latter replying.
On the fourth delivery of the seventh over, Saxena’s attempt of cutting a short delivery from Avishek Das saw him hitting the ball straight to Mahmudul Hasan Joy at point. Having scored 2 (17), Saxena failed to create an impact in the final match.
A cautious start from India was followed by a 92-run partnership for the second wicket between Jaiswal and Tilak Varma (38). With Jaiswal and captain Priyam Garg batting in the middle, India would be hoping for them to score briskly to register a competitive total.
