India put up a much-improved performance on the 2nd day of the 3-day practice match against New Zealand XI. After being bundled out for 263 on the opening day, India reduced New Zealand XI to 235 all out; taking a 28-run lead in the process.
India ended the day strongly at 59 for no loss and a lead of 87 runs. Both Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal faltered in the first innings and were dismissed cheaply. However, the pair played a much better innings in the second innings.
In fact, the two took the bowlers to the cleaners during their 7 over stay before the close of play. Agarwal scored 4 boundaries and a 6 in his 17 ball 23. Shaw was even more aggressive and slammed 5 boundaries and a maximum in his 25 ball 35.
One of those boundaries came off a powerful square cut and the six was a result off a Sehwag-esque upper cut.
